20 Maggio 2018 – Nel Comune di Giavera del Montello, è stato costruito, dopo la Grande Guerra, un Cimitero Britannico che ospita le salme di 417 soldati del Commonwealth, morti in questa zona, durante le fasi combattute qui nel trevigiano, attorno al fiume Piave.
Come tutti i cimiteri anglosassoni, è un luogo ordinato e maestoso, una vera e propria isola di pace nel cuore del Montello, ordinato e pulito, quasi un luogo luminoso, in contrasto con la morte tenebrosa, come viene vista invece dai cattolici.
Nell’ultima foto invece il monumento a Francesco Baracca, asso dell’aviazione, caduto qui il 19 giugno 1918.
20 May 2018 – In the Municipality of Giavera del Montello, after the Great War, a British cemetery was built to house the bodies of 417 Commonwealth soldiers who died in this area during the fought here in the Treviso area, around the Piave river . Like all the Anglo-Saxon cemeteries, it is an orderly and majestic place, a real island of peace in the heart of Montello, neat and tidy, almost a luminous place, in contrast with the gloomy death, as seen by the Catholics instead.
In the last photo, instead, the monument to Francesco Baracca, ace of aviation, fell here on 19 June 1918.
