26 Maggio 2017 – Anche in terra thailandese, purtroppo, il tempo passa, e così all’alba del 4° giorno salimmo sull’oramai familiare furgoncino con l’obiettivo di arrivare a Chiang Rai per sera.
La prima tappa durante il percorso prevedeva una scampagnata in groppa agli elefanti con relativa discesa del fiume a bordo di una tipica zattera thailandese. Così ci fermammo al mattino al Maetaman Elephant Camp.
Siamo saliti sopra l’elefante ad un’incredibile altezza, all’inizio mi sembrava una bella esperienza, poi mi sono preoccupato per come questi animali venissero trattate, poi mi hanno detto che vengono trattati bene, ma non mi hanno convinto del tutto, sono di natura diffidente io. Al di là di questo, mi rimarrà sempre in mente come questi grandi animali si muovessero con grazia e maestria lungo gli impervi sentieri tracciati lungo la giungla, anche con pendenze non indifferenti e con tre persone in groppa, altro che elefante in cristalleria!
Dalla groppa dell’elefante ho scattato un po’ con l’iPhone 7 e un po’ con la Pentax dotata del fido DA 17-70, ma dati gli scossoni dell’elefante non era facile e nemmeno la stabilizzazione sul sensore poteva far nulla.
26 May 2017 – Even in Thailand, unfortunately, time passes, and so at the dawn of the 4th day we climbed on the familiar van with the aim of arriving in Chiang Rai in the evening.
The first stage during the route included a walk on the elephant’s back with relative descent of the edge of a typical Thai raft. So we stopped in the morning at the Maetaman Elephant Camp.
We climbed over the elephant at an incredible height, then I thought it was a good experience, then I worried about how these animals were treated, then they told me that they are treated well, but I’m not convinced at all, they are wary nature. Beyond this, it will always remain in my mind how these great animals moved gracefully and skillfully along the impervious paths along the jungle, even with not indifferent slopes and with three people on the back, nothing but elephant in glassware!
From the back of the elephant I took a bit ‘with the iPhone 7 and a bit’ with Pentax with the credit DA 17-70, but given the shock of the elephant was not easy and even the stabilization on the sensor could do nothing.
