GRANDE PALAZZO REALE E WAT BENCHAMABOPHIT DUSITVANARAM (THE MARBLE TEMPLE)
29 Maggio 2017 – Il penultimo giorno sulla terraferma lo passammo a Bangkok visitandone le maggiori attrazioni. Per primo fu la volta del Palazzo Reale, dimora dei sovrani fin dal 1782. Le superfici dorate che ne coprono gran parte sono testimoni della magnificenza del palazzo, che ospita anche numerosi Buddha di vari materiali e in varie posizioni. Nelle immediate vicinanze trova dimora nel tempio di Wat Pho anche il famoso Buddha sdraiato lungo 46 metri e alto 15.
Dopo questa visita da me così malamente riassunta, attraversammo il fiume di Bangkok in traghetto e visitammo il Wat Arun, dalle altissime guglie (la più alta arriva a 80m) in stile khmer (prang) purtroppo per noi in restauro.
E poi ci recammo al Tempio di Marmo, con un po’ di orgoglio visto che il marmo di cui è costituito fu fatto provenire direttamente dall’Italia.
Il tutto scattato con le stesse modalità dei post precedenti.
_**May 29, 2017 **- On the penultimate day on the mainland we spent it in Bangkok visiting its major attractions. First was the turn of the Royal Palace, home of the sovereign since 1782. The golden surfaces that cover most of it are witnesses of the magnificence of the building, which also houses numerous Buddhas of various materials and in various positions. In the immediate vicinity is located in the temple of Wat Pho also the famous reclining Buddha 46 meters long and 15 meters high. After this visit so badly summed up by me, we crossed the river of Bangkok by ferry and visited the Wat Arun, with very high spiers (the most high arrives at 80m) in Khmer style (prang) unfortunately for us in restoration. And then we went to the Temple of Marble, with a bit of pride, since the marble it was made of came from Italy._
